Mad Light Bulb Giveaway!

A funny thing has happened over the past few days here in our suburb...

A whole bunch of Indians descended on our suburb, each with a fold up chair and one of those red/blue striped laundry bags. They then proceeded to sit out on the median strips around our suburb in the shade and I had no clue as to what they were doing.

Then on Friday, the door bell rang... and standing at the door was an Indian girl... and she offered me some spiel that she was from some sort of company and asked me how many energy saving lightbulbs I would need in the house? "Twenty?? Thirty??" she asked... Me, in a daze, said "what, are you giving me free lightbulbs? Why?" She then said, "Wait here, I will be back in five minutes" and then I asked her if I had to do anything for these lightbulbs.

She said "we have to take your name and details down on our computer". Nevermind how they powered their computers by sitting by the side of the road all day, I said "No way" and told her not to worry about it... she seemed genuinely dismayed, but relised that I wouldnt fall for her scam.

Then yesterday, the doorbell rings again... this time, the girls answer it expecting a neighbourhood kid, but then I hear the dreaded "Hi, is your mummy home?" and I head for the door.

Standing there was this nerdy looking guy with acne sporting a lime green polo shirt with some indiscernible logo and a crackling CB radio on his hip.

"Afternoon sir, I am from the Blah Blah company and I am offering to fit your house completely with our energy saving lightbulbs!"

I said, hang on... weren't you here on Friday. He is puzzled and then asked...

"Was it an Indian person?"

I answered in the affirmative...

"Well they're really dodgy" was his reply.

Stunned, I said "Well you're not to genuine sounding yourself and I said no to them and I will say no to you too... thanks" and then I shut the door.

Can I ask... why are people willing to give you a huge amount of energy saving lightbulbs? What's the catch?

That will teach 'em!

Fancy putting fresh fruit (vegetable? I always get stumped on Tomatoes...) into a McDonalds burger!

No more tomatoes!

Put more plastic processed food in... at least you won't get Salmonella!

A Tribute to the Boyz

My best mate Noyz has had the snip!  After fathering two kiddies, he went under the knife yesterday to have "the Boyz" seen to... apparently all are doing well but he won't be doing the high jump for some time...

Why am I posting this?  Just to embarrass him really...  ;-)

And thy mercy was spared!

I am in the office today... there was no metering of judicial smackdown from me today as my date with Jury Duty was cancelled... unfortunately the recorded voice on the Jury Duty Hotline (0055 HotJury) told me that my services were not required...

Oh well, and their loss I say!  I could have been so good at pointing "the bone" at someone before "sending them down" to the Big House.... I could then have had lunch with the Prosecution team (coz we wouldnt have needed a long trial... in my opinion, if you've managed to get yourself in front of a judge, you must have done something wrong) and over lunch I could have helped them with their next case and told them how the world really is and that all this civil libertarian stuff is a load of pinko-greenie cods-wallop!

Oh how they have made a mistake!  I could have been such a good juror!

Gotta go now though, I have to cancel my download of "Judge Judy - Series 1, 2 and 3".

My Justice Shall Be Swift And Merciless!

Been a bit since I posted... have had plenty of work on and have had some early starts... so I have been a bit flummoxed this week.

Things have been a bit hectic, but oddly enough I am looking forward to a long weekend... why?  Because I have JURY DUTY!  Yay!!  Some people would go "ah fuck!" but not I... at the very best I get a day off work (and hopefully am dismissed very early in the piece) and at worst I get to sit in whilst some local drug lord appeals a speeding fine and I get to say "GUILTY!".

NSW Local Court Judicial System?  I say Bring It On!!

Am I odd to be looking forward to such a day?  Why do I have visions of LA Law and some attractive "D.A's"?  (We don't have DA's in Australia, unless you're referring to Dirty Aussies...) Why can I see the local court version of Ice T layin' down the law as it is righteously written despite him "bein' a brutha".

LOL... God I am stupid...

How embarrassment

Don't you hate it when you get up in the morning, rush to work, have a meeting first thing, gulp down two coffees (one before meeting, one after) and then you realise that its one of the girls on the floor's birthday so you are forced to attend a painful rendition of happy birthday and you are absolutely busting to take a piss and you get through all that, and duck out to the bathroom and with the need to go now absolutely unbearable and you reach down to unzip your fly....

and its already open.

DAMN!  How embarrassment!!
