Dwarf Painting - The Inking Process

Stage 2: The inking has just been done (and is still wet). Purple and yellow ink for the clothes, chestnut for the skin and horns (looks crappy atm, I know...) and a black paint wash on the beard... You'll notice the beard has now gone grey. Dont know if a double base coat is a good thing or not yet.

Also I am not too sure about inks... Never really used em before... Posted by Picasa

Hmm, ignoring the weird colours due to the photo, the beard really doesn't look inked to me.

I suspect I'd need to get a look at the model in the metal so to speak.

but since the picture, i have done some highlighting and it looks sweet!

Ah, that explains why it doesn't look like ink - you really should get some of the proper stuff - where did you look for it?

Tin Soldier City store...

They didn't have some form of Black Ink there? That would really surprise me.

There is also Armour Wash which is essentially a black ink, and between the various paint ranges they have there should be one or another that would have it.

If you want I'll pick one up for you and you can pick it up.

BTW, have you picked up your Stunty King prize off Brendan yet?

Nah she's OK mate, I will swing by there during this week (I have to get some putty) and will see if they have any ink...

If not, I will go to the GW store...

Or I will see at Penrith Tin Soldier as well...

I didnt know there was a big difference between ink and a paint wash...
